A building permit is obtained. At the work site, a hole, approximately 3' x 3', is hand dug exposing the top of the tank. The tank is cut and all fluids and sludge are removed. The tank and area are checked for signs of leakage.

A PRO TANK technician then enters the tank in order to clean and hand wipe the inside. The technician also removes the vent and fill pipes. The tank is not processed further until the site has been inspected and approved by the appropriate local building inspector and/or fire code official.

The tank is then completely filled in place with a natural, inert material such as sand. The hole is covered with the existing fill dirt, and grass seed and hay are applied.

PRO TANK issues a Certificate of Abandonment.
